Phase 26 + 34

Daily standups that auto-write
themselves.

Auto-prefilled from yesterday's completed tasks + today's open tasks + activity log. Edit, add blockers, submit. Department-scoped email digest (Phase 34). Quick-add task from blockers. Plus an Activity-vs-Hours HR signal.

The async-standup-fatigue problem

Slack standups become noise. So most teams stop reading them.

The pattern: someone sets up an async standup in Slack. First week, everyone submits. By week 4, half the team forgets, the other half copy-pastes “same as yesterday.” The dept manager gives up reading. Standups die.

How ItzSEO fixes it

5 things baked in.

Auto-prefill (Phase 26.6.A)

Composer opens with yesterday's completed tasks + today's open tasks + activity log already populated. Edit what you want to surface, hit submit. 30 seconds.

Quick-add task from blockers (Phase 26.6.B)

Type a blocker in the composer → ‘+ Task’ affordance appears → creates a linked task. Blocker becomes actionable, not just venting.

Dept-scoped email digest (Phase 34)

Department managers get an email digest scoped to their team only — not the whole workspace. Web Design Manager doesn't get the Content team's standups in their inbox.

Activity-vs-hours HR signal (Phase 26.6.C)

Flags employees logging hours but with no/low activity. Surfaces to HR reports as a coaching signal — not a punishment trigger, just visibility for managers.

History view

Per-employee + per-project standup history. Filterable by date / submitter / project. Useful for performance reviews + client-handoff context.

Quiet-days filter

Filter standup history by ‘quiet days’ (zero activity logged). HR uses this to spot ramp-down or disengagement early.

Phase 34 deep-dive

Department-scoped recipients.

The “Web Design Manager gets 15 emails/day, 3 about Web Design” problem. Solved.

Recipient resolution splits into two per-axis toggles in /settings/notifications:
  • • Department digest — receive standups from your department's submitters only
  • • Project digest — receive standups from projects you're a member of, regardless of submitter dept

Most managers want department-scoped only. Project-scoped is useful for cross-functional projects where you need to see all hands. Both can be enabled simultaneously, deduped server-side.

FAQ

Standup questions.

Are standups mandatory?
No. They're a feature, not a requirement. Teams that want them turn them on. Per-user toggles in /settings/notifications control whether you receive digests.
Can I write a standup without auto-prefill?
Yes. Click ‘+ Submit today's’, ignore the prefilled content, type whatever. Auto-prefill is a starting point, not a constraint.
What's the difference vs Geekbot or DailyBot?
Those tools run async in Slack. ItzSEO standups live in the workspace, link to actual tasks and projects, auto-prefill from real activity, and feed the HR reports + leaderboard. They're structurally connected to the work, not just a Slack form.
Does activity-vs-hours flag people automatically?
It surfaces a coaching signal in HR reports — never sends an alert directly to the employee. The intent is ‘manager has visibility’, not ‘system penalty.’ What the manager does with that signal is a management decision.
Can clients see standups via the portal?
No. Standups are internal. Client portal shows tasks + articles + deliverables; standups stay private to the agency.
